Bio-Dynamic Breathwork is a trauma informed modality which incorporates 6 elements of healing. Focusing on the observation of tension held within your body structure we use these elements to gently break through armouring of the body.

With careful guidance and the use of proven trauma release techniques we gently open up the body to safely unwind patterns of stress and harmful behaviour restoring peace to the nervous system. With this work we bypass the need to re-experience painful memories that talk therapy requires and instead work instead directly with the body where those memories and experiences are held and stored, moving them right from the root.

  • Is what happens to our bodies overtime when emotional expression becomes blocked and later bound by muscular contraction. What we can’t process in our minds sculpts our posture and body language.

    This armoring narrows the range of our life experience making it less fulfilling. Using the breath and specific de-armoring exercises we work to release armoring through each segment of the body.

  • We work systematically with each belt of tension, helping to gently release the constriction and emotional energy held at each level. As the segments of psychological and somatic defenses mechanisms as released in the BBTR sessions, our clients experience a fuller access to their feelings, body sensations, and core self.

    What expressions relate to each segment are below:

    1. Ocular Belt (Eyes) - suspicion, amusement, contempt, detachment.

    2. Cervical Belt (Jaw) - self pity, helplessness, longing, hurt, creativity, self expression.

    3. Oral Belt (Throat & Neck) - disgust, shame, loss of voice and self expression.

    4. Thoracic Belt (Lungs, Hear & Chest) - Rejection, sorrow, grief, stubbornness,

    5. Diaphragmatic Belt (Solar Plexus & Rib Cage) - bridge between sensing and feeling, power and creativity centre, confidence, loss of control or support. Indecisiveness.
